What Chelsea Clinton can expect in the next few months

The true messages of Secretary of State.

I'm working on a post regarding Inbound Marketing and Japan but had to step back and talk about Hillary Clinton leaving from the State Department.

In a recent Andrea Mitchell interview, Hillary Clinton said that the day after she leaves state, she will have no airplanes to get on or meetings to attend. She might just sleep in.

She has plans and we know it. They involve her one and only daughter Chelsea Clinton.

Like any mother her age and in her situation with a married daughter, she is about to run up a phone and text bill all to Chelsea.

"Okay Chelsea. I'm no longer Secretary of State. I've got a lot more time. I'm not getting any younger. Where are my grandchildren?"

I saw an interview with Chelsea where she says that her mother, in between dealing with foreign powers and saving the world from self-annihilation, would contact her about having children.

You know...
"Just finished negotiations with Kim Jung Un. He's going to delay nuclear weapons research. BTW, did you know he has kids? He's in his early 30s. Like you. Love Mom."

No pressure.

For Chelsea, a successful hedge fund manager and infrequent NBC reporter, she says she wants to work more before having children. Sadly the messages will not stop. They will now include phrases heard by potential parents world-wide.
1) My lap is empty
2) I have time. Lots of time. (with addition of don't have to world the save. I have time.)
3) By the time I have grandchildren, I'll be too frail to hold them.
4) At this rate, they'll never know their grandmother
5) The older you get the harder it will be to have kids.
6) Your father is waiting for grandchildren but doesn't want to pressure you.

So now has some downtime she will be pondering two things a 2013 bid to be a grandmother or a 2016 bid to be president. I think the former is dominant in her mind.

So I say to Chelsea, good luck. The pressure will get worse but I bet if you had kids, your parents would be there to help A LOT. WAY MORE THAN YOU WANT MAYBE. Might want to change your email address and phone number.

Whenever they pressure you, here are some responses that will satisfy them.
1) We love you and you will have some soon
2) If you offer to babysit once a month or more, we'll get on it.
3) You know that we need privacy. If you want kids, stop coming over so much. You have your own home(s).

And to Hillary. You will be a grandmother and those kids will look up to you and Bill. Just remember they love you for cookies, money and presents not for policies.

Have a good time sleeping in and blasting Chelsea with message.
